Artist's Statement

Although my work tends to end up in an abstract or semi-abstract form, it is usually inspired by NATURE. Especially the textures, shapes and colour find their way onto my canvas, paper or jewellry in some organic, gestural form. There is so much to see and absorb even in a small area. To me the different landscapes and cityscapes are always moving and changing....something breaks, withers, sprouts, changes colour. There are scents, sounds and so much energy in this process that can be translated into various marks, colour and mediums, expressing the fragmented beauty, energy and despair of our environment........
