Britta Klingenstierna was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Drawing and designing was one of her main occupations as a child and through University (Social sciences) as well as an early career in Human Resources. After a move to England, Britta found an opportunity to study Art full time at The Kingston Polytechnic (Foundation year) followed by three years at Byam Shaw School of Art, which resulted in the London Diploma in Art and Design L.D.A.D and Dip.BS. 1984. In 1985 Britta moved to Toronto, Canada, At Ontario Art College , she studied media experiments and her work focused on environmental questions, showed at the Roundup studio tours, Toronto Outdoor Art show and published in Galerie womens Art magazine. In 1989, Britta moved to Montreal where she exhibited ”Les Cercles Civilices” at Galerie Dare-Dare.
From 1991-93 Britta studied at Ecole de Joaillerie and Metaux d’Art. In Montreal and worked exclusively making “One of a Kind” jewelry pieces. She was awarded Grand Prix de Creation de Bijoux (1st price) and showed at the Galerie Des Metiers D’Art and York Quay Gallery etc... . In 2003 Britta joined The Toronto Heliconian club, where she has been active showing her Art and Jewelry in Solo shows and regular group shows. In 2008, she was commissioned to design a jewelry piece for The Toronto Heliconian Club’s Centennial year. The design was inspired by the Victorian stained glass window adorning the building.
Britta also has a studio in the south of Sweden where she works and exhibits part of the year
